The ceremony

The town describes the ceremony as an annual tribute to people who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Members of Apex public safety, the Apex Town Council and the community speak, and there are moments of reflection at the memorial. It is a community event run by American Legion Post 124; the town provides the site and staff. The same post runs Apex Oktoberfest each October.
