Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 9, 2027. In Apex the week before it brings PeakFest, the annual festival with more than 100 arts and crafts vendors, and a new Paws and Rec celebration for dog moms. As of Oct. 11, 2026, neither had posted full 2027 details, and no Apex restaurant had posted a 2027 Mother’s Day menu; we will update this page as they do. PeakFest: gifts from 100-plus vendors

PeakFest is held each year on the first Saturday in May, which in 2027 is May 1. It is a community event run by the Apex Festival Commission, and the town lists:

  • More than 100 vendors with a wide range of arts and crafts
  • Festival food and food trucks
  • Live music and entertainment
  • A Kids Zone with inflatables, and roving street performers

Dog Mom Mini Fest: May 7, 2027

The town’s Paws and Rec series lists a Dog Mom Mini Fest on May 7, 2027: “a celebration for dog moms and all pet lovers featuring activities, vendors, and more.” Time and place had not been posted. At Paws and Rec events, dogs must be current on vaccinations, including rabies, and stay on a non-retractable leash no longer than six feet.

Saturday at the farmers market

The Apex Farmers Market runs Saturday mornings at The Depot, 220 N. Salem St., with vendors that change weekly, including produce, baked goods, prepared food and crafts. See our farmers markets guide for the current hours.

Mother’s Day brunch

These restaurants publish their brunch or breakfast hours on their own sites. Mother’s Day is a busy Sunday, so book or join the waitlist early, and check each for holiday hours.

  • Doherty’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, 5490 Apex Peakway: Sunday brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (brunch menu, reservations).
  • First Watch, 1280 W. Williams St.: open daily from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with an online waitlist; 919-377-9920 (location page).
  • Common Grounds Coffee House and Desserts, 219 N. Salem St.: open every day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with coffee, smoothies, gelato and cheesecake; dogs are welcome at the tables out front (website).
