Downtown

Downtown businesses stay open during the Salem Streetscape project, which has North Salem Street one-way southbound until mid-December. The town’s Economic Development office runs two promotions this fall to bring shoppers downtown:

  • Fall Harvest Night, 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at The Depot, with specials from downtown businesses (Love Local)
  • Witches Night Out, 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, when downtown shops and restaurants stay open late (details)

How this list is made

  • Restaurants, food stands, food trucks and meat markets come from Wake County’s Restaurants in Wake County data, which gives the date each permit began. We include records whose city is Apex.
  • Shops, offices and services that do not handle food do not need a county food permit and are not in that data. We add them when the town, the business or a ribbon cutting announces them.
  • A permit date is not always an opening date; some places open to the public days or weeks later.
