Apex public schools are run by the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS). On the district’s traditional calendar, spring break is Monday, March 29, to Friday, April 2, 2027. Good Friday, March 26, is a holiday, and Monday, April 5, is a teacher workday, so traditional-calendar students are out from Friday, March 26, through Monday, April 5. Year-round and modified-calendar schools follow different dates. WCPSS: 919-431-7333.

Spring break 2027 at a glance

Date Traditional calendar
Friday, March 26 Good Friday holiday
March 29 to April 2 Spring break (vacation days)
Monday, April 5 Teacher workday; also the district’s third weather make-up day
Easter Sunday March 28, 2027

WCPSS has six banked days and five remote-instruction days for bad weather. If it needs more, the calendar lists Oct. 12, Feb. 15 and April 5 as make-up days, in that order, so a hard winter could turn April 5 into a school day. Check your own school’s calendar on the WCPSS calendars page. Charter and private schools set their own dates.
