Where to get burgers in Apex: Kelly Road, U.S. 64 and downtown

Most of Apex’s burger places are on the shopping corridors: Kelly Road, Beaver Creek Commons and Pine Plaza, U.S. 64 and Ten Ten Road. Downtown has Salem Street Pub, and the Teachey Place center has a burger restaurant with a patio.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Apex’s town limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. We added Al’s Burger Shack and Salem Street Pub from their own sites, and Cook Out and the East Williams Street McDonald’s from Wake County’s restaurant inspection data, which also supplied phones where a page would not load for us. We left out an A&W with no address we could confirm and the Hwy 55 on Perry Road, where the county now lists a different restaurant. The list is alphabetical. Al’s Burger Shack is the Apex location of a burger restaurant that also lists shops on West Franklin Street and Market Street. Its site invites diners to eat on the patio at the shack and offers catering.

Cook Out holds a Wake County permit on East Williams Street. The chain’s site does not publish location pages, so call or drive by for hours.

Culver’s on Kelly Road serves its ButterBurgers and frozen custard, with dine-in, curbside and drive-thru service, its page says.

DQ Grill & Chill on Ten Ten Road is a Dairy Queen with a grill menu. Its location page would not load for us.

Five Guys on Pine Plaza Drive is the burger and fries chain, which says it has made burgers and fries since 1986.

McDonald’s has two Apex restaurants, on U.S. 64 and on East Williams Street. The U.S. 64 page lists hours; we did not find a page for East Williams Street.

Red Robin is on Beaver Creek Commons Drive; Wake County’s record lists it as Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews. Its location page would not load for us.

Salem Street Pub downtown calls itself a burgers, brews and moonshine pub.

Wendy’s on West Williams Street lists late hours, with the drive-thru open the same hours as the dining room.
